Trip Reports

Over the years I have had the good fortune to visit many areas of Western Australia:

  • exploring the terrain,
  • following up old explorer routes and history,
  • enjoying the flora and fauna and,
  • sharing the experience with like minded people

My favourite areas being the remote deserts.

Edgar Range in the Kimberley 2011

I was a member of a party of four 4WD vehicles on a four week trek covering remote areas of the west and east Kimberley, below the station country south of the Great Northern Highway. On the western leg of the trip we travelled south of Damper Downs Station to Dragon Tree Soak via the Edgar and McLarty Ranges. It was an exhilarating trip with sand dune crossings. overgrown and washed out tracks and magnificent scenery. For more here is a short video prepared by the trip organiser and leader Alan McCall.
